It’s not often one gets to write\u00a0“introduce” twice in a sentence, but here goes:\u00a0Visual Assist introduces Introduce Variable.<\/p>\n

Introduce Variable, a powerful refactoring for C\/C++ and C#, replaces\u00a0an expression with a meaningfully named variable. In classic Visual Assist style, the UI to Introduce Variable\u00a0is simple and understated:<\/p>\n

  1. Select an expression to replace<\/li>\n
  2. Invoke\u00a0Introduce Variable, e.g. from the Quick Refactoring Menu (Shift+Alt+Q)<\/li>\n
  3. Decide to replace just\u00a0the selection, or also\u00a0the occurrences that follow<\/li>\n
  4. Specify a signature in the dialog that opens<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Introduce Variable makes an educated\u00a0guess at the intended scope of the\u00a0new variable, adding braces to your code if necessary. Default type and name are reckoned\u00a0from your selection.<\/p>\n

    Other improvements in\u00a0Visual Assist build 2052 focus on navigation: new filters make searching for symbols faster, Goto Member jumps from more places, and Goto Related makes it easier to jump\u00a0within a class and to constructors.<\/p>\n
